Here is what has been happening:

• We received about 2 1/2 inches of rain in the last week -- extremely rare for May, and very welcome.
• Michael Grainge has been organized, cleaned,   and clearing the land around our temporary living spaces and the garden. It's looking really good
• Michael bought an 18' travel trailer and is cleaning/fixing it up.
• We planted out some squash and melons from seedlings in the cleared area. We hope to sell some squash in the fall at the Farmer's Market, which is just starting for the first time ever in Douglas next weekend.
• We have purchased and installed a new SunMar composting toilet which is far superior to our old Envirolet unit.
• We have received one estimate from an excavator to clear about 1 1/2 acres and put in some swales.

Coming soon:

• More estimates from excavators, and actually getting the land cleared and swales in
• Organize the tool shed/toilet house, put in a new shelf.
• Put a water line to the toilet house to add a washbasin, and move the shower house to a better area and hook up a solar hot water system.
• We will start setting up living space for Michael, building the first small domes
